Press Release

Gifts are being delivered to the disadvantaged in record time as donations made in store to St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland during opening hours reduce the workload for volunteers.

Unattended donations left outside of business hours leave goods exposed to harsh weather, often ruining the well-intended donations and require volunteers to sift through what is usable in the morning.

SVDP QLD state president Brian Moore said the organisation has always encouraged the public to make donations appropriately and is delighted to know that they are responding to the requests.

“The public has been truly great in cooperating with the SVDP QLD team to assist the disadvantaged in the quickest time possible,” Mr Moore said.

“SVDP QLD wish to thank all members of the public who have made donations to the charity, they are making a real difference to these people’s lives.”

The organisation operates Centres of Charity throughout Queensland to sell goods such as clothing and furniture to disadvantaged people at a low cost.

Donations to SVDP QLD can be made in store during business hours, inside one of the designated charity bins or by dropping off donations at one of the warehouses/depots.

A list of SVDP QLD Centre’s of Charity and charity bin locations can be found here.

SVDP QLD is a Catholic organisation servicing the disadvantaged across the state through financial and material assistance as well as various other services.
